Workshop: Next Level Pots
Saturday, November 17th
10am - Noon
Quonset Hut Studio at Armadillo Clay
3307 East 4th Street
Austin, TX 78702
We all hit a point in our learning where improvement seems to stall. Practice brings consistent results, but the final product falls short of our expectations. Looking for ways to take your pots to the next level? This 2-hour lecture and optional group critique session is for you! We'll discuss numerous ways to refine and improve your work, from wide application to form-specific details. We'll talk about rims, handles, spouts, feet, and other functional elements, as well as identifying your personal goals for your work. Toward the end of class, we'll have an optional critique session in which the group as a whole can offer constructive criticism on your work if you choose to take part. You are welcome to participate in giving feedback even if you don't present work of your own for critique.
What to Bring:
Notebook and pen/pencil to take notes and sketch ideas. If you would like to participate in the critique, bring 1-3 pieces of your work. You are welcome to bring food and drink!
Please Note: Armadillo Clay closes at noon. If you are needing to shop, please arrive early to complete your shopping prior to class. Depending on the pace of the class, we may not have time for a break. Armadillo Clay opens at 9am.
Parking: Please park on Allen Street or in the empty grass lot on Allen across from Armadillo Clay.
